Tools for the Trade Showcase March 2012 Review

Our showcase for the Tools for the Trade project went down a storm this week featuring live music from our groups of young people as well as the official premiere of the music video for ‘Walk Over Me’.

The event was attended by a great mixture of young people, local community members, educational staff from across the area as well as local artists and professionals.

Following from the day the showcase was featured both in the Yorkshire Post (find the article here) and also had a long feature on BBC Radio Leeds (listen in here)

Tools for the Trade: March 2012 Showcase

On 28th March Interplay are hosting the first Tools for the Trade showcase of 2012. Our young people have been working closely with artists George Gisbourne and Lee Smith over the last 12 weeks and have songs, films and animations to show. From live dub step to a photography display and the world premiere of the band’s amazing new music video, this is a day not to be missed! The young people involved come from all over the Leeds area from both mainstream schools and IGEN Leeds.

The showcase will take place at 11am here in the Interplay main space with refreshments before and after the show.

First Look At Spit Nolan Theatre Set Design

Spit Nolan theatre designer Barney George has been working with Interplay’s Artistic Director Steve Byrne to design the new set for the show. The design encompasses our core ideas and methods for engaging with our audience by creating an immersive and flexible environment for the characters to share the story of Spit Nolan and the gang.
