Paint is an interactive arts project that allows young people with profound and multiple disabilities to leave a trace in a space using the medium of paint. Set inside an inflatable dome and using Jackson Pollock’s ‘Action Painting’as the starting point the piece will build on the interplay between a dancer/performer, a musician and the young person who enters the space.
Various scenarios and strategies will be employed to unlock communication and self-expression including, ‘intensive action’techniques, mime and clowning techniques, mood and lighting changes. Each interaction will be specific to the young persons needs and will last for several minutes but the time will vary depending on those needs.
